After a grueling test match yesterday, the Samoan national side was treated to some deserved luxury at the Fiji Resort and Spa.

The aim is to get some fitness, but without the high body impact. All bodies are tired after yesterdays match and they hit the beach to ease the muscles back to goodness.

In what turned out to be a Baywatch Island style, guests gathered around and watched the Samoan national team carve up the sands of Fiji. It was a good old game of shirts vs skins and the tattooed machines strutted their stuff. There was a heap of running, even more laughing and the side has a real togetherness about them.

Even in a playful environment like this there are wonderful passes and skill on display. The heart rate got up, the bodies were preserved after the excessive load yesterday and it was a glorious playing field for them today.

On the sideline were the heavyweights of the side, these guys wear numbers 1,2 & 3 on match days and do the majority of the grunt work. Today they looked like the next title contenders as they punched away in fierce boxing drill. This initially looks like fun, but after numerous sets of 5 or more punches, the big fellas are blowing for air. Around them the physio is working on the wounded and the whole team look like a close family.

Next up was volleyball, the talent level took a nosedive, but the competitive nature was still there. Spikes, misses, laughs and fun were had as they played under the warm sun in Fiji.

The squad is reposting no real injuries and Manu Samoa are looking in high spirits, their preparations for Fiji will step up a gear in the coming days, but they are looking better each day as a unit.
