Round 4 is upon us today in the PRC, these 3 matches will dictate who advances with a chance, and one player has made their birthday wish.

This battle of the Pacific rugby really is seeing some dream scenarios, we have must win matches and a heap of man pride on the line today in Nadi- Fiji.

On the menu we have the gutsy Tau'uta Reds Reds up against the desperate Savai’i Samoa as the entrée at 11 am. In their last game the Tongan lads avoided red faces with a superb last minute comeback, they stole the match with seconds to go and will be eager to do more of the same today.

In their way is the only side from Samoa with a chance to stay in the competition. This pressure is solely on Savai’i, lose and both they and Upolu Samoa fly home on Saturday eve, win and they cling to a chance.

The second course is Fiji Barbarians vs Upolu Samoa at 2pm, both these boys lost in the last hit out and will want to redeem themselves today. There is nothing like 2 losing teams playing each other to add fire to a match, the Babas were sitting pretty on top 4 days ago, with a loss today they fall way down the contention pecking order.

Upolu are simply out of this competition with 3 loses on the trot; all they are playing for is the search much needed form. Their PRC opportunity has gone, now they need to get back to the raw inner goodness that we know they possess. They are built, they are fast and these gifted Islanders know how to play rugby a lot better than they have been thus far. If this spark arrives today they will be dangerous and will use this flow to aim at the Pacific Nations Cup jerseys up for grabs.

The desert is at 5pm when the unbeaten Tautahi Gold face the Fiji Warriors, this top of the table clash will be a cracker. Sione Kalamafoni one of the tournaments stars so far turns 22 today; speaking yesterday he said “ All I want for my birthday is a win over the Warriors”. His form has been sublime, leading his side with veteran like maturity has seen the Gold’s dominate opponents, the icing on Sione’s birthday cake will be their 4th win in a row today. Do this and they are through to the final.

Trying to blow out the candles today are the Warriors. The defending champs struck form in their last match rattling up 42 points. Some of their raids were 60 meters of flowing passes in true Fijian style, there game is on now and today it will be tested fully. Win and they press for a final spot, the other outcome will make this dream a lot harder.

All match scores will be coming live on this site, after the games we will bring the reports from the side lines and images to see the battles.
