Australia, Samoa, Tonga and PNG have progressed to the Semi Finals of the Oceania Sevens Championship as Day 2 kicked off this afternoon in Darwin.

It means that all four Commonwealth Games-bound teams have progressed to the semi-finals and sets up a great evening of Rugby.

Samoa were the first team into the semis with a comfortable 55-7 victory over Vanuatu in the first match of Day 2. Papua New Guinea prevailed over Cook Islands 21-17 in a thriller while Tonga accounted for Niue confortably 24-0. Australia were the last team to book a place in the semi finals with a sizzling 51-0 victory over Tahiti.

The Semi final match ups will see Australia take on Tonga and Samoa against Papua New Guinea. There is still plenty to play for in the other half of the draw with a place at both the Wellington and Adelaide Legs of the 2010/11 IRB Sevens World Series on offer for the 5th placed team. Round 3 kicks off with Vanuatu taking on Cook Islands followed by Niue against Tahiti.
