Winger to Wing Man.

In his self-confessed younger and lighter years, Air Pacific’s Managing Director & CEO John Campbell reflected on his days as a sprightly winger for Knox Grammar School in Sydney, Australia. Times have changed and now he is the Wing Man with a powerful sponsorship announced in Fiji today, Air Pacific have jumped on board with the IRB to form a combination to literally help rugby fly in the Pacific. Air Pacific is the official airline of the Pacific Nations Cup 2008 and John was a happy man signing the agreement with IRB Pacific Islanders Manager Will Glenwright today.

John said “We are absolutely passionate about our involvement with rugby, it is a state of religion for us here and Air Pacific relishes the community involvement.” ”Anything that helps unite people and develop sportsmanship and opportunities for our youth is something we want to be part of.”

Asked who he would support if Fiji was playing his home nation, John paused for a while and said “I guess I would support Fiji, I always like the underdog; mind due I think Australia might be the underdog these days!” “ Either way I’ll still support Fiji.”

The Pacific Nations Cup gets underway in Lautoka on June 7th where the Flying Fijians will host Manu Samoa. This deal is also good news for people of the Islands, Air Pacific GM of Sales and Marketing Michael Nacola announced that they will soon be releasing a series of Rugby Airline deals to make getting to these cracker games better for us.
