Upolu Samoa have won the first final, their prize is to host the grand final this Friday at home. In a twist of fortunes the Tautahi Gold team get to have another crack to topple them in the repeat match this week. As we all know a week in rugby is a lifetime, so the loss last week will be forgotten if they win the ultimate prize the Pacific Rugby Cup for 2008.
Upolu Samoa will go into the game as favourites, with their gun kicker Roger Warren running red-hot after scoring 16 points in the weekends game. Upolu Samoa were forced to make some changes with 7s stars heading off to London, this made room for David Lemi, Anitelea Tuilagi, Pale Toelupe to have some game time. They gelled well and secured the win.
The Tautahi Gold’s 10 points came from one penalty goal and a converted try late in the match, they will be hurting as they get another week in Samoa to brew on their loss. The long week will certainly add fire in the bellies and it will be a blazing game and a fitting final. Kick off is 5pm at Apia Park.
