Tomorrow is the start of Fiji rugby fever, as rounds 2-5 of the ANZ Pacific Nations Cup 2009 gets underway. World-class rugby will be played across Viti Levu (Fiji) and the land will be graced by some of the games most potent players.

More than 80 million homes will be tuned into the test matches and our Fiji. This massive audience will span over 50 countries across Europe, USA, Canada, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Island countries. Not only will they see scintillating rugby, but the warmth and passion of Fiji will be spread & this fine country will be etched into their must visit list.

The ANZ Pacific Nations Cup is an important component of the IRB’s £48million Strategic Investment Initiative that is designed to improve the performance of the Pacific Islands, Japan and other targeted Unions on the world stage.

For the first time ever this tournament will be predominantly played in one country. It creates a mini world cup type environment and this regular playing schedule will equip Fiji & other teams well leading up to the ultimate RWC in 2011.

Ticket sales and interest has been excellent, with the power of a home support behind them Fiji have a great chance to get their hands on the trophy.
