South Africa beat Fiji 24-14 to win the Emirates Airline London Sevens at Twickenham on a day which also saw New Zealand crowned 2010/11 HSBC Sevens World Series champions with one tournament remaining.
It is South Africa’s second Cup title of the season and lifts them to third in standings with 116 points, ensuring the race for second place behind New Zealand will be a four-way battle in Scotland next weekend with England (121), Samoa (112) and Fiji (110).
As the London Sevens set a new Series record of 100,094 crowd across the two days, the other finals saw Samoa beat Australia to take the Plate, Scotland overcome Kenya to win the Bowl and hosts England beat Portugal to claim the Shield.

The final round of the World Series takes place on 28-29 May, the Emirates Airline Edinburgh Sevens at Murrayfield.
